Meet Moyra

Trauma-Informed Hypnotherapist, breathwork facilitator & holistic healer

I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.

The realizations that shaped the way I practice

trauma-informed hypnotherapy, Brainspotting, breathwork, somatic experiencing and nervous system-based healing.

I used to think healing was about finding the answer.

Life has been a generous teacher since then 😂

I used to think healing was about finding the answer.

First, it was mindset! Then it was hypnotherapy… Then soul work… Then breathwork.

Every few years I was convinced I'd finally discovered the missing piece—the one approach that explained everything!

Each one changed me. Each one still shapes the way I work.

But over time, something became impossible to ignore: Human beings refuse to fit inside neat theories.

You aren't just a mind. Or a body. Or a nervous system. Or a history. Or a soul.

You are all of those things, woven together in a way that has never existed before and never will again.

No single modality could ever hold all of that.

So I stopped looking for the answer and became more interested in listening.

Listening carefully enough to understand what each unique person sitting in front of me was truly asking for.

Because I don't think we're as complicated as we often imagine.

I think we're wonderfully unique.

And beneath every story, every adaptation and every symptom, I believe we're all longing for the same thing:

To feel our own life moving freely through us once again.

That thing that you’re coming to see me about…

You might be calling it anxiety, depression, self sabotage, apathy, the deep dull ache. It is an adaptation.

Imagine a river flowing effortlessly until something blocks its path. The water doesn't give up—it finds another way. Our adaptations are much the same. They're the routes we found when life interrupted our natural flow. The way we had to bend so we didn’t break. They were never the problem. They were the solution.

Every adaptation makes sense.

One of the deepest truths I know is this:

Nothing inside any of us is random.

Anxiety. Perfectionism. People-pleasing. Numbness. Hypervigilance. Burnout. Screwing yourself over.

They all make sense.

Every adaptation was an intelligent response to the life lived.

The question isn't, "What's wrong with me?"

It's, "What happened that made this the wisest way my system knew how to survive?"

When we approach ourselves with curiosity instead of judgement, healing stops feeling like a battle.

It becomes a remembering.

my story

How It all started.

I’ll be honest, I entered the healing arts with all ego:  I thought I was going to save the world. Lo and behold, it turned out I was the one who needed saving.

The younger version of me would have told you she was fine. She wasn't. She was disconnected from herself in ways she couldn't yet see, certainly couldn’t feel and didn’t have language for. I'm proud of her for beginning anyway.

I grew up on the west coast of Ireland, nestled under Benbulben mountain and facing the Atlantic Ocean in a culture shaped by extraordinary beauty, deep resilience, unspoken grief and generations of inherited repression and fear.

Later, moving to Turtle Island created enough distance for me to see myself differently. I found remarkable teachers in healing fields of clinical hypnotherapy, mindset mastery, emotional processing. In each of them found my own healing too. I also got lost for a while too, those tangents are also part of the story.

Like many people in this field, I became caught in the endless project of trying to overhaul myself like I was a HGTV fixer upper.

But the more layers I stripped away, I realized my work was in undoing. That it wasn’t the act of making myself better, but taking away all the things that stopped me from being my deepest truest Self.

That understanding changed not only my own life, but the way I work with every client who walks through my door.

how this work adds up

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation

I don't believe anything happens in isolation. Our lives are held in the delicate ecosystem of an earth that is burning. We can’t not feel that.

We live in a time where many old systems and ways of being are crumbling. The atmosphere feels thick with tension. Alongside our personal struggles, we're carrying collective anxiety, uncertainty and grief about the future. It's no wonder so many of us feel disconnected, overwhelmed or exhausted.

Yet I remain deeply hopeful. Our hurt is showing us our humanity.

Again and again, I've witnessed what happens when people reconnect with themselves. They trust themselves more. They make decisions differently. They love differently. They parent differently. They bring more presence, compassion and courage into every part of their lives.

We don’t heal simply to help us feel better so we can return unchanged to the lives that are hurting us. I believe healing helps us remember our humanity. And every person who remembers their own humanity makes it just a little easier for someone else to remember theirs.

That's the future I'm quietly working toward—one human being at a time.

What I believe now

  • I believe your body remembers how to heal.

  • I believe your nervous system remembers safety.

  • I believe your life force wants to move.

  • I believe beneath old thoughts, stored emotions and survival patterns there is an intelligence that has never stopped trying to bring you back to yourself.

  • I will help you to create the conditions where your own system can remember what it already knows.

Why this matters

I don't believe healing is simply about feeling better. Surviving well.

It's about becoming more available to your own life.

To your relationships. To your community. To the Earth beneath your feet.

To the generations who came before you and those who will come after.

I don't believe we heal so we can become more productive.

  • I believe we heal because life itself has dignity. Because you have dignity.

Because the world needs people who are deeply connected to themselves, capable of loving well, and courageous enough to act from that place.

  • Healing, to me, is an act of remembering.

And every person who remembers who they are makes the future a little different.

what guides me

We Forget

We are born whole, curious and deeply alive. Then life asks us to protect ourselves, and slowly we forget parts of who we are in order to survive.

We Adapt

Nothing inside you is random. Every anxious thought, protective pattern and survival strategy was an intelligent adaptation to the life you lived.

We Remember

Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about remembering the wisdom, strength and life that have been within you all along.

We Heal

Healing begins when we stop fighting ourselves. With curiosity, compassion and the right support, we can gently release what no longer serves us and return to ourselves.

We Belong

We heal in relationship—with ourselves, with one another and with the living Earth. Remembering who we are also reminds us that we were never meant to do this alone. Sorry introverts.

We Ripple

When one person heals, everything changes around them too. Every act of remembering creates ripples of courage, compassion beyond self and time. Together we rise.

Our Lives are Our Masterpiece.

When we do it right,

we sculpt ourselves into wise and generous elders

this is serious work

but i try not to take myself too seriously

You'll probably hear me swear occasionally.

You'll definitely hear me laugh.

We will rage and grieve together.

Most likely some tears, the good cleansing kind.

And I’ll be kicking you in the behind at times too.

Because healing isn't something that only happens in a therapy room.

It happens in relationship; With yourself; With other people; With the living world.

Life teaches us to forget who we are.

Healing is remembering.

If that sounds like your kind of therapy, I'd love to meet you.

a bit more about me…

I’m 100% Irish…

Took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that B

Yes... apparently that's still possible!

I grew up in County Sligo on Ireland's wild Atlantic coast and return almost every year and love catching up with some of my enormous extended family. Moving away taught me more about being Irish than living there ever did, and every trip home deepens my appreciation for the culture that shaped me.

I love to speak a little Gaeilge whenever I get the chance (Is teanga álainn é), but I don't miss the rain one bit.

Home is my happy Place…

Once upon a time I backpacked around the world, lived out of hostels, and was always chasing the next adventure. These days you'll most likely find me at home with my wonderful husband and our two cats, Esther and Inanna, in the Victorian house we've lovingly renovated together. Renovating a century-old house will either break you or build character. Thankfully, ours did both. Having survived it, I'm getting as much enjoyment out of this home as possible.

Apparently sitting at home with cats, my husband and a thousand-piece jigsaw puzzle is what happiness looks like in your forties. Turns out the cat ladies weren't a cautionary tale after all. They were living the dream.

I was born like this…

Outside the therapy room I'm usually doing something that reminds me I'm alive—kung fu, boxing, strength training (important for the revolution), yoga, dancing, singing far too enthusiastically at karaoke, crafting and participating in public art projects, or disappearing down a rabbit hole about color analysis. (I'm a Bright Spring, in case you were wondering you’re seeing so much red.). I’m always dabbling in new things, the blessing and curse of the ADHD mind.

For curious star-crossed minds, I’m a Virgo sun, a Capricorn moon and fortunately for everyone, a Libra rising which makes me bearable.

Moyra Michelle Biography

Moyra Michelle is a Cleveland Ohio based clinical hypnotherapist, somatic practitioner and breathwork facilitator whose work brings together neuroscience, psychology, nervous system regulation and ancient wisdom to help people create lasting transformation from the inside out.

She is trained in Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®), Clinical Hypnotherapy, Conscious Connected Breathwork, Non-Linear Movement Method®, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Brainspotting®, alongside ongoing study in trauma, attachment, embodiment and emotional processing. Her work is informed by both contemporary research and the ideas of psychologists, neuroscientists, authors and wisdom keepers who continue to shape her thinking.

Known for blending science with soul, Moyra has a particular interest in emotional literacy, the unconscious mind, women's psychological development, grief, symbolism and the stories our bodies carry long after words have run out. She is also the creator of The Art of Feeling, an embodied framework that helps people understand and work with thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations as a practical pathway to healing.

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" she asks, "What happened that made this adaptation the wisest thing your system could do?" Her work helps people understand themselves with greater curiosity, reconnect with their own inner wisdom, and remember the wholeness that has never truly been lost.

At heart, Moyra considers herself a lifelong student of what it means to be human. She believes healing begins with curiosity, deepens through connection, and that some of our most profound transformations happen when we feel safe enough to tell the truth—first to ourselves, and then to one another.
