The power of Self Awareness

Self-awareness changes everything

The most important relationship you'll ever have is the one you have with yourself.

On occasion, I work with teenagers (very selectively), and one of the things I love most is being reminded of the absolute certainty we all seemed to have at fifteen.

At that age, I was convinced I knew exactly how the world worked.

Looking back now, I'm not sure I've ever been so confidently wrong.

The older I get, the less interested I become in having all the answers, and the more interested I become in asking better questions.

That, to me, is self-awareness.

Not endlessly analysing yourself.
Not fixing yourself.
Not becoming a "better" version of yourself.

Simply learning to notice.

To notice what brings you alive.
To notice what leaves you feeling contracted.
To notice the stories your mind tells, the emotions moving through your heart, and the quiet wisdom of your body.

Every meaningful change I've witnessed—whether through hypnotherapy, breathwork or simply honest conversation—has begun with the same simple act:

Someone became curious.

Curious about why they reacted the way they did.

Curious about the patterns they kept repeating.

Curious about what they truly longed for beneath all the noise.

Self-awareness isn't the destination.

It's the doorway.

It allows us to recognise the beliefs we've inherited, the survival strategies we've developed, and the places where we're no longer living from who we really are.

It doesn't ask us to judge ourselves.

Only to meet ourselves honestly.

Because we cannot change what we cannot see.

And once we can see it…

We no longer have to keep living it.

A gentle reminder

The goal isn't to know yourself once and for all.

The goal is to stay in relationship with yourself for the rest of your life.

That's where the real adventure begins.
